SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE

I updated my blog tonight for the Christmas season and decided to use last years Christmas photo for the top photo. I couldn't help but notice that in both that photo and a picture I got of the kids over the weekend when we were putting up the tree that Davis likes to grab or hold his sister by the neck. It's a loving gesture but Miss Diana is strong enough now that she can get away from him. I love her smile in the photo as if to say "come on now Davis aren't I too old for this!!" The other two photos are Davis posing with his new sweatshirt he got for his birthday from our good friends Heather and Jay; he wanted them to see him wearing it!

SESAME STREET LIVE!!!

We went to see Elmo and the gang with my aunt Wendi and my cousin Jameson. The kids had a great time, especially Diana. At intermission she started marching down the aisle toward the stage. I told her to come back and she said "I get Elmo, Mommy!". Davis loved the "imagination" aspect of the show. Whenever they would say close your eyes and imagine you are somewhere else he would squeeze his eyes and entire face so hard; he looked so funny! They would then say to open your eyes and see where your imagination had taken you (which usually meant a scene change on stage) but Mr. Davis was frustrated everytime he opened his eyes. I asked him where he imagined he was and he said "school". I hope he feels that way next fall too :-) Between the Elmo light-up spinners and the red snow-cones our kids had a blast.

My cousin Jameson was so happy to see Elmo he was crying tears of joy. He wasn't scared or anything so I told my aunt he must be shedding tears
of happiness :-)

MISSING ON THANKSGIVING

After we ate on Thanksgiving Davis said he was tired and went to lay down in grammy and bumpa's room. I went to check on him later and he was no where to be found. I figured he wandered off somewhere in the house to play but after checking everywhere I got a little worried when I didn't find him. I went back into the room to look under the bed and as I glanced over I saw my little Davis sleeping on the floor behind my Mom's mirror.

THANKSGIVING

We traveled to my parents' home for Thanksgiving. Davis & Diana enjoyed playing with my cousins' little boy. He is 5 months younger than Diana so of course watching the two of them was very cute. Davis was all about playing dominoes with Uncle Patrick and Diana couldn't get enough of Uncle Brady. You can see her posing by him in the last photo trying to get his attention.

VISITING GREAT GRANDMA AND GRANDPA

We stopped to see my grandparents on our way home Thanksgiving night. Diana played my grandma's piano and Davis enjoyed talking to great-grandma Alice & great-grandpa Jim. He is starting to understand that they are Mommy's "grammy and bumpa" and grammy's "mommy and daddy" - it's quite a concept for a three year old to grasp. My grandpa hasn't been feeling too well lately and I think Davis' big hug cheered him up quite a bit. I love the photo of him hugging my grandfather.

ROCK STAR HAIR!!!

Davis has still not given up his dream of being a rock star when he grows up. Here he is posing with his "rock-star" hair and a hat he found. He requested for Daddy to take his picture.

THANKFUL

Our kids have had the opportunity to experience a lot of fun and exciting things in the past year or so. I am very thankful for that. What I am even more thankful for is the time they spend together here at home and that I am with them taking care of them, teaching them, and being with them. There is nothing greater than watching them grow up each day and giving them a sense of security and direction that only a mother can provide. I am very thankful that my husband works so hard and takes on all the stress of providing for us on his own. Thank you Michael; I know it's not easy!!!

In these photos we had "dress yourself" day. The photos speak for themself :-)

HOLIDAY PARADE

Poor Davis was one tired little boy this morning when we went to the parade. He looks half awake in this photo but he did manage to enjoy himself. The fact that Santa was at the end of the parade helped him stay awake :-)

Davis leading Diana out to see the doggies. He knows she loves puppies so he came and got her. What a nice brother you are Davis!

The puppies...

Diana spent most of her time up here unless of course any sort of an animal came by. She loves all animals including pigs and cows. To my surprise there were both a pig and a cow in the "Christmas" parade. Diana was screaming "moo, moo" and "oink, oink". This was even better than Santa for her.

Davis knew exactly who Ronald McDonald was and did everything he could to get his attention. I actually heard him yell out "chicken nugget". I justify them eating nuggets here by ordering apple dippers. It is quite sad however that my three year old knows exactly who Ronald is (hehe). Note Davis trying to flag Ronald down for some nuggets.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS KICK-OFF

This event was so much fun. D & D met Santa, had hot chocolate, danced to Christmas music, and saw fireworks. Gwen, Karen, Sara & Madison came along too. I asked Davis on the way home what he thought of Santa - his response was "that was Santa's grandpa mommy not santa". I guess he thought Santa should look younger maybe??

MOMMY IN THE PICTURE!!

Gwen was kind enough to suggest that I actually get in one of the photos. I'm always behind the camera. Here we are at the Holiday Lights kick-off downtown. Thanks Gwen!

"WE HAVE BUNKS MOMMY!"

Michael and I have discussed getting the kids some toddler bunk beds. They are still sharing a room and Diana is now crawling out of her crib. She actually climbed out for the first time on Davis' 3rd birthday. I think she was trying to steal some attention that day LOL! We have talked about putting them in separate rooms but they enjoy having the security of their sibling in the room and have actually been sleeping from 7p - 7a since Diana was 4 months old. Obviously my little sponges listen to our conversations as I heard them giggling in their room the other day only to find this when I walked in. "We have bunks Mommy!" Davis informed me. "Yep" said Diana "bums!!!". I love the toddler talk - it always makes you smile. I think it's cute that Davis put Diana on the bottom "bum".

FLABBERGAST

Last Sunday we went with some friends to an indoor play area called Flabbergast. They were serving free lunch if you donated non-perishable food items and Davis got in for $2 while Diana was free. We had 3 hours of fun and energy-burning for $2 - can't beat that!!

Diana waited at the bottom of the slide for Alexis, Avery & Jenna. She thought this was great..

Here are Davis & his buddy Ariel going down the slide together. These two were quite comical. After helping each other up to the top of the slide I heard them both say "we did it!!". I then heard "let's go" and down they came. They probably did this a good 30 times. They would meet at the bottom, high five, giggle and go right back up again. I know their fathers are happy about their blooming friendship now that they can communicate better (LOL)

Here they are again. Davis roared past me in the tunnel almost knocking me over after I took this photo. Ariel yelled out "Davis, that's your Mommy!". Little girls are so polite.

Diana and Madison playing in the toddler area. They had a ball jumping in here together.

Diana in her Minnie Mouse outfit. Minnie is her new love second of course to Dora. Unfortunately Diana was too distracted with all the fun to let me get a picture of her so this was the best I could do.
