VISITING UNCLE PATPAT'S SCHOOL...11/24/10

Davis, Diana and my parents went to visit Pat in his classroom the day before Thanksgiving. We got there about 5 minutes before dismissal and the kids of course wanted to go in and help out. Davis stood in front of the class acting very serious while Pat dismissed the class. I could tell he felt very important helping out especially since these were "big kids".
Diana getting in on the action too. She loves to hold Pat's hand...
Working on some math flashcards..
Diana watching the big kids. She loves when Pat holds her and talked about this day for quite awhile after our visit...

GRANDPARENTS AND SPECIAL FRIENDS DAY...11/24/10

Davis got to have Grammy and Bumpa come to his school the day before Thanksgiving - what an exciting day for all three of them! Davis and his classmates sang songs, showed off their classroom, and gave all the grandparents a special gift.

Davis and Bumpa...
Below is the special birdseed frame Davis made for Grammy and Bumpa. Within the frame is the dication of what Davis said about them. It reads:

"Grammy and Bumpa play with us! Sometimes my Mom and Dad just drop us off at their house. They live in Darlington! It's a long way..over the hill and then I don't know the rest of the way. My Mom and Dad know the rest of the way - you should ask them. We do every kind of thing at their house - riding bikes and painting. Grammy works at the hospital. She does all kinds of things at the hospital like take care of people. Bumpa works at the bank. I think he gets the money to buy food. Sometimes we go out to eat with Grammy and Bumpa. We go to all kinds of places to eat. Grammy likes fries and Bumpa likes chicken and I get kid food and fries and apple juice. Grammy makes potatoes when I go to her house. I like them good because I love them."

SILLY GIRL..11/23/10

My little silly girl eating lunch with rainbow hair and a cowboy hat. She requested I take a photo of course. I simply cannot figure out why she loves the camera so much..

BALLET WITH MADISON....11/13/10

We went to visit the Bolden's in November and were so happy to see them and meet their newest addition - baby Mikayla. Diana and Madison hadn't seen one another since the fourth of July so I was very happy that they got to spend some together. If you happen to read this Sara - we are really missing you guys again :-(

Sara made sure Diana had a leotard to wear to Madison's ballet class and the teacher was kind enough to let Diana sit in with the other girls...
How sweet are they...

SNOW FUN IN MINNESOTA....11/13/10

The kids played in their first snow of the year while we were in Minnesota. It was a lot of snow too!! After ballet with Madison we came home to play in Clayton's backyard. He has the perfect backyard for everyone to play in. The kids were sad when we came back to Wisconsin and there was no snow on the ground. Michael and I were just fine with that!!Diana and Madison working on their snowman together...
My wonderful husband playing with the kids while I take pictures from inside the door drinking coffee :-)
Hot chocolate after playing...
Diana playing music for Baby Mikayla - so sweet...

ER TRIP IN MINNESOTA...11/13/10

Our trip to Minnesota ended with a trip to the ER for Diana. Of course we are out of state the first time she has to go the ER. Luckily our insurance covered most of it - very thankful for that.

Diana went to bed fine and woke up really struggling for breath - we took her to the ER and she had very bad croup so she received a breathing treatment and a steroid shot. The doctor brought in 3 people to hold Diana down when they gave her the shot. They warned me that it would sting really bad when it went in and I will admit the needle looked pretty scary to me and I have witnessed quite a few shots in my Mommy lifetime. I told them I thought all the people would just scare her and told them I would hold her and to give us a second then come back. Michael promptly turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the I-pad for her to watch and she got the shot without crying or anyone holding her down. Once again the art of distraction works soooo great! Everyone in the ER was talking about "the little girl" that took the steroid shot without crying. She was very proud when we left the ER. She is one tough little lady!!
Walking out with her Daddy - poor Michael was so tired.
I will warn you this video is not that exciting but it is so funny to me as I sound like I am about to pass out and Michael is dragging his lovely snow boots on the ground as he walks down the hall. We laughed when we got in the car because it was about bar time. I am go glad I don't keep those hours anymore. Sleep is a beautiful thing!!!

DIANA'S PROGRESS REPORT....11/10

Miss Diana - she is currently the boss of the house. Two going on three and enjoying her ability to communicate all her desires loud and clear. She has no problem standing up to big brother (in fact she is very strong thanks to him) and is either super sweet, loving, and obedient or loud and bossy. Here is her progress report from school...Her school picture - the smile says it all...
Did I mention she insists on wearing my shoes all the time and gets mad when I won't wear my high heels. I rarely wear heels when I'm carting around a 4 year old and 2 year old. I take that back - I NEVER wear heels. Anyhow, she insists on wearing them for me...
All set to go pick up big brother...

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE....11/11/10

We really enjoyed our very first parent teacher conference. We heard all great things about Davis and were happy to hear how much he loves helping his teacher. I, like most parents, had to laugh when hearing how well-behaved he is because he sure does love to challenge Mommy at home (LOL) We were thrilled when we saw his drawing that he did of himself in his Halloween costume. He loves writing letters and drawing and I know we are biased but we think he's pretty good at it :-)

Davis PK school picture (just a pic of a pic I took on my cell phone). He looks soooo old! I am a broken record when I say that but geesh how does the time go so fast?? He told me the other day he is going to be able to drive once he turns 5 so I should make sure he has his own keys. Thank God I have 12 more years before I have to deal with that!!

DAVIS - FOUR YEAR OLD DOCTOR APPOINTMENT...11/11/10

Uhh..I am so behind on blogging. I was going to pick up with what's going on now but I of course felt guilty so I am going to try my best to catch up from November and then stay on track again. So starting back in November was Davis' four year old check-up!

Playing video games with Daddy which is a HUGE treat for Davis. Mommy has made our home a video game free zone and plans to hold out as long as I can. Of course we will have them eventually but not until my kids really start asking for them. Geesh - Michael looks just as happy as Davis...
Davis was a little sleepy the day we went to his appointment. He's got his determined face here - I'm sure he's wanting to get back to the video game with Daddy.
OK - this is not a great picture of these two but was the only one I got. We love, love, love Nurse Lisa!!! Davis was exited to tell Nurse Lisa and Dr. Darcy everything he has been learning at school and even brought along his school progress report to show them. He weighed in at 37.6 pounds (65%) and was 41 inches tall (65%). Since his appointment in November Davis has gained 1.5 pounds and grown an inch. Suddenly all his pants are too short!! He is a growing boy. Mommy attributes this to him not being such a picky eater as of late but I won't keep my fingers crossed on that. I am learning never to get too comfortable with any stage or phase as there is always a new one right around the corner.

Nurse Lisa and Davis at his 3 year old check-up last year. Davis's stats then were: 33.3 pounds (65%) and 38.5 inches tall (70%). Here's to a fun and healthy year being 4!!! And oh yes how I could I forget the shots. Davis seemed pretty apprehensive about the flu shot; afterall, by now he knows what to expect. I told him to look at the ceiling and see if there was anything up there he could count and by the time he was done looking up they were all done. He said it just hurt a little. The art of distraction - works everytime.
