TRICK OR TREAT AT THE NURSING HOME

We went to a trick or treat event with the MOMS Club at a local nursing home. The residents were so happy to see all the children. All the kids did a project with the residents followed by trick or treating. There was even a clown there at the end to give everyone balloons.

Trick or treat!! As you can see Davis was taste testing as he went. It never hurts to sample your inventory.

Diana taking a test drive in Lorraine's walker. Lorraine was kind enough to let her give it a try.

Dinosaur Davis working on his project.

Davis actually sharing with Diana (without me asking him too!) Makai is hoping he's next.

This sweet lady loved Diana. She kept calling Diana a "bump a lumpkin". Diana's response " I Dinana."

PRE-SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

We went to a pre-school open house today for Davis. He had been waiting for a few months to check out this particular school and really wanted to try out their playground :-) He enjoyed touring the pre-K classroom and spent a good majority of his time using a magnifying glass to check out all the ants in the ant farm. Davis & Diana both LOVED the library and the indoor playground - they were very excited throughout the tour. When we left today, Davis wanted to know how long until he could go everyday. The trees are so beautiful right now I really wanted to get a photo of the kids together but as you can see that wasn't going to happen.

SATURDAY MORNING - TIME WITH DADDY

I was getting some things done around the house earlier this morning and I heard Michael yelling for me to bring the camera. It was pretty quiet (which is rare around here) so I yelled "where are you?" and could hear my husband and my children laughing in the kids' bathroom. Davis & Diana missed their Dad so much this week they decided they wanted to hang out with him while he was in the bathroom. The two of them were camped out on the step stool reading a magazine together - can you guess what Michael was doing? LOL.

THREE YEAR OLD DOCTOR VISIT

Davis went to the doctor today for his three year old check-up. He was so excited to see Nurse Lisa and Dr. Darcy. We had to complete a 3 year old skills test at home with Davis before his appointment and he was so excited to take his "paperwork" with him to the doctor today. Davis weighed 33.3 pounds (65%) and was 38.5 inches tall (70%). He scored advanced in all areas - communication, problem solving, personal/social, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills. Yes, I am going to brag a little bit today. Raising children (especially strong willed toddlers) is a lot of work and it always feels great when others get to see the results of your hard work. Davis had no apprehension in answering all Dr. Darcy's questions and completing the tasks she set before him. Thank God for Davis being a healthy and happy 3 year old. We were so proud of you today Davis. Check out the photo of Davis & Nurse Lisa. She is a professional at giving shots - no one is better than Nurse Lisa. It's hard to believe that in just 4 short months we will be taking Miss Diana in for her two year old check-up!!

DAVIS IS THREE!!!

We celebrated Davis' 3rd birthday yesterday at Family Funland. Davis had such a great time & was overwhelmed with all his gifts. Our friends and family are always so generous and we truly appreciate that. Davis AND Diana will be enjoying all the new toys over the next few weeks. More important than the gifts are all the people who came to celebrate with us. Just being there says that you love our son and that means everything. A special thank you to Brady & Janelle who drove over 3 hours to celebrate with "Day" as Diana has been calling him. I will post more pictures tomorrow hopefully but right now I have quite the mess to organize - the living room looks like we just had a Christmas party. Here's a cute photo of Davis with his guitar he got from his godmother Crystal.

VERY FIRST PHOTO

Davis is going to be turning 3 this Saturday. Each year as one of my children approach their birthday all the memories come back of the last few days of pregnancy, the labor, bringing them home etc. (at least for me anyway). I was looking at all the photos we have of Davis (there are thousands) and had to smile when I ran across this one. This was his very first photo taken by Michael's cell phone so he could e-mail a photo to everyone. We will have many more photos to come in Davis' life but this will always be the first. I love you Davis!

38 DEGREES!!!!

It is so cold today!! It was 38 degrees out when the kids left for class this morning. I have to admit I'm not prepared with the winter gear yet so Davis & Diana are wearing last years coats. I am lucky they could get into them. I hope the weather goes back to normal soon this is just way too cold!!!!! Note what I call the "tackle-hug" in the first photo. This is Diana's favorite thing - she is one tough little lady thanks to her big brother.

NEW SHOES FROM CRAIG

Thank you to Craig for the new shoes for the kids. We received them in the mail yesterday and they were both so excited to open their packages. I went a little overboard on all the shoe pictures but they are just so cool Davis and I couldn't help it. We did a "shoe photo shoot" together this monring LOL. We really appreciate you always thinking of the kids. These are not shoes we would normally buy ourselves so they are a special treat :-)

GOODNIGHT KISS

Davis gives Diana a kiss each night before she goes to bed. If he doesn't give her a kiss she won't go to sleep. Luckily he is always excited about saying goodnight to his sister so it's never been a problem. Last night Davis REFUSED to give Diana her goodnight kiss. She was in tears and very uspet. He gave in & gave her a kiss on the top of her head and she was all better again. Notice all her teeth in the second photo - she has been getting new teeth left and right. She has handled it pretty well but has been a bit grumpy versus her usual cheerful self.

Please brother I need a kiss! Note the big tear on her face...

He finally gives in but only a kiss on the head...

All better now - thanks brother!

THE FAMILY FARM

We visited the Family Farm in Grafton on Sunday. Davis & Diana both got to feed the goats and were both especially interested in the rabbit. Davis saw the rabbit alone in the cage and was very concerned. "Where is the rabbit's mommy?". I told him the Mommy Rabbit was at work and would be back later. Davis was so sad and could not stop talking about how lonely that rabbit was. Diana loved sitting on the tractor with Davis & Madison. Davis & Madison were best buddies again - holding hands and walking together. Poor Diana gets so jealous.

MORE FAMILY FARM PHOTOS

HEY THAT'S MY BROTHER!!

I saw another side of Miss Diana on Saturday afternoon when we went to the park with her friend Madison or should I say Davis' friend :-) Davis & Madison were best buddies and Diana got a little jealous. It was a little chilly but all three of the kids enjoyed running up and down the hill at the park. At one point Davis left with Madison and I caught Diana with the biggest pout I've ever seen her make. She wanted Davis all to herself. I noticed this morning when Davis was in his art class Diana kept running around looking for him. As soon as he left the play area for art, she was instantly grumpy. I'm thankful they love each other so much but it will definitely be an adjustment for Diana when Davis goes off to school.

Davis loves Kenyatta - you can see them talking in this photo....

HI GRAMMY & BUMPA

My Mom has been missing the kids this past week like all grammys do. I took some pictures of the kids a little bit ago when they were leaving with Daddy for their play and learn class. I said "come on let's take a picture for grammy" and little Miss Diana yelled out "and Bumpa" :-) Diana grabbed her little toy camera and was taking photos of me while I took her picture. I told Diana to take her hat off so Grammy and Bumpa could see her hair. It is finally starting to grow - I am so excited for the day I can get pigtails in that hair of hers :-) We miss you Grammy & Bumpa - only 2 more weeks until Davis' birthday!!
