DAVE & BUSTERS

The Sherrer Family took Davis to Dave & Buster's for a belated birthday celebration last Saturday. Davis had so much fun when he got home he wanted to take a picture with the bears he won (one was for Diana) and his new clothes and dinosaur book. He told me after Miss Tasha and her family left " Mommy, I'm so happy!". Miss Tasha watched Davis from age 4 months - 16 months so they have a very special bond. I am glad they are still a part of Davis' life :-) Thank you Tasha, Michele, Shirley, and Uncle for making Davis' day memorable.

EYELASHES

These two have the best eyelashes. Diana will never need make-up. The way the world is today with all the "fake" things women do to themselves to improve their appearance makes me look at Diana and hope she never falls into that trap. She is so beautiful just the way she is. Davis - I'm glad you don't have to deal with all that girl stuff (LOL).

BEST FRIENDS

I caught these two hugging and ran for the camera. My settings were off but I'm glad I caught the moment. These two are either best friends or worst enemies lately.

WE CUT THE CURLS!

We cut Davis' curls over the weekend. He wanted to pose tonight when Michael got home so we could send a picture to Grandma. Please excuse Michael's sweatiness - he just got home from basketball. I think Davis looks more like Daddy now.

DEAR LORD BLESS ME WITH PATIENCE.....

NICKELODEON UNIVERSE - HALLOWEEN

We went to Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America to celebrate Halloween with the Boldens. We had SO MUCH FUN! Davis loved riding Swiper's Sweeper and both of the kids rode on Diego's rescue rider.

MEETING DORA

"Dora, Dora we love you!!"

"It's really you Dora. We've been waiting our ENTIRE life to meet you!"

Posing with Dora - Diana still can't take her eyes off her.

Dora's manager comes out to tell us we need to keep moving. LOL

One last hug from Diana - "Dora you are my hero!"

MEETING DIEGO

Davis is thinking "ok Mom said I had to be good before I met Diego. I'm just going to stand right here until he comes out."

Diana - "hey that's not Dora - I'm out of here". Madison - "oh my goodness, it's Diego, oh my goodness"

Diana has exited but her ladybug antenna remain. Madison is thinking maybe she should grab them.

Diana - "I am not happy about this Diego thing - where is Dora?" Everyone else appears to be happy :-)

Diana "ok, Diego I'm so sorry but I need to go"

ROOM SERVICE FOR DAVIS & DIANA

We went to Minneapolis over Halloween weekend with the Boldens. The kids had their first experience with room service. We got to the hotel pretty late on Friday and Miss Diana had puffy eyes from an allergic reaction earlier in the day so we opted to eat in the room. Davis thought it was "so, so good" and of course the bed in the room was a big hit. Eating supper after bath time was such a big deal to these two - they are so used to routine it's comical when we do things out of order. They were excited and confused at the same time.

MISSING MY BABIES

Ok, so maybe they aren't babies anymore. My Mom and Dad have the kids for a few days which is a rare treat for us. They sent me this photo this morning and of course it made me miss them. Nice to see that Davis is looking out for his sister!

Not sure of the story behind this photo but it looks to me like Davis thought Diana needed a new hair do. I see him in the background. LOL

HALLOWEEN PARTY AT THE BROWNS

The kids had a blast at the Browns' Halloween party on Thursday night. Even though Davis was the only boy there he still managed to have a good time ( I can't imagine why LOL). All the kids had so much fun. Laila came along too! After dancing, hot potato, musical chairs, and freeze dancing my little sweeties were ready for bed.

Diana and Ariel having a chit-chat.

Davis playing hot potato.

Playing the drums for Miss Ariel

All the pretty girls dancing. You can see little Diana in the middle of all the girls - look for the red bootie on her foot.

Laila playing hot potato. Davis was so glad Laila came with us. We loved her Cleopatra costume.

PLEASE PRAY FOR ANNIE

Our friend Annie has been battling lung cancer since September 2008. I met Annie through her cousin, my wonderful friend Cheri. Annie had been doing well but recently has become sick again so she is in need of our prayers. Davis, Diana and I went to see her at the hospital Thursday morning in hopes of cheering her up a bit. She was a real trooper for allowing my two little busy bodies to come to see her. I wasn't going to take any photos but Annie asked if I brought my camera (you know I did :-) so we got some shots of Cheri, Annie, and the kids. I included a photo of Annie before she was sick too. She is a beautiful and wonderful mother to two boys.

Davis enjoyed giving Annie high five and loved meeting all the doctors and nurses in the hallway. Miss Diana has been calling everyone and everything "Annie, Annie, Annie" since we left. Of all the activities, classes, and fun things my kids get to do, I really feel blessed when they have the opportunity to "help" others. Davis was so proud for cheering Annie up. I talked to the two of them on the way home in the car about how good it is to be kind and helpful to others especially those who are sick or in need of our support. I doubt they really understood but as I looked in the rear view mirror they were both shaking there heads "yes". I heard Davis tell Diana "we did that Diana - we cheered up Annie."

We are sending lots of love and prayers to Annie daily and would really appreciate any other prayers that could be offered up for Annie.

Here is the video I made last fall for Annie's fundraiser event:

TRICK OR TREAT AT THE NURSING HOME

We went to a trick or treat event with the MOMS Club at a local nursing home. The residents were so happy to see all the children. All the kids did a project with the residents followed by trick or treating. There was even a clown there at the end to give everyone balloons.

Trick or treat!! As you can see Davis was taste testing as he went. It never hurts to sample your inventory.

Diana taking a test drive in Lorraine's walker. Lorraine was kind enough to let her give it a try.

Dinosaur Davis working on his project.

Davis actually sharing with Diana (without me asking him too!) Makai is hoping he's next.

This sweet lady loved Diana. She kept calling Diana a "bump a lumpkin". Diana's response " I Dinana."

PRE-SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE

We went to a pre-school open house today for Davis. He had been waiting for a few months to check out this particular school and really wanted to try out their playground :-) He enjoyed touring the pre-K classroom and spent a good majority of his time using a magnifying glass to check out all the ants in the ant farm. Davis & Diana both LOVED the library and the indoor playground - they were very excited throughout the tour. When we left today, Davis wanted to know how long until he could go everyday. The trees are so beautiful right now I really wanted to get a photo of the kids together but as you can see that wasn't going to happen.

SATURDAY MORNING - TIME WITH DADDY

I was getting some things done around the house earlier this morning and I heard Michael yelling for me to bring the camera. It was pretty quiet (which is rare around here) so I yelled "where are you?" and could hear my husband and my children laughing in the kids' bathroom. Davis & Diana missed their Dad so much this week they decided they wanted to hang out with him while he was in the bathroom. The two of them were camped out on the step stool reading a magazine together - can you guess what Michael was doing? LOL.

THREE YEAR OLD DOCTOR VISIT

Davis went to the doctor today for his three year old check-up. He was so excited to see Nurse Lisa and Dr. Darcy. We had to complete a 3 year old skills test at home with Davis before his appointment and he was so excited to take his "paperwork" with him to the doctor today. Davis weighed 33.3 pounds (65%) and was 38.5 inches tall (70%). He scored advanced in all areas - communication, problem solving, personal/social, gross motor skills, and fine motor skills. Yes, I am going to brag a little bit today. Raising children (especially strong willed toddlers) is a lot of work and it always feels great when others get to see the results of your hard work. Davis had no apprehension in answering all Dr. Darcy's questions and completing the tasks she set before him. Thank God for Davis being a healthy and happy 3 year old. We were so proud of you today Davis. Check out the photo of Davis & Nurse Lisa. She is a professional at giving shots - no one is better than Nurse Lisa. It's hard to believe that in just 4 short months we will be taking Miss Diana in for her two year old check-up!!

DAVIS IS THREE!!!

We celebrated Davis' 3rd birthday yesterday at Family Funland. Davis had such a great time & was overwhelmed with all his gifts. Our friends and family are always so generous and we truly appreciate that. Davis AND Diana will be enjoying all the new toys over the next few weeks. More important than the gifts are all the people who came to celebrate with us. Just being there says that you love our son and that means everything. A special thank you to Brady & Janelle who drove over 3 hours to celebrate with "Day" as Diana has been calling him. I will post more pictures tomorrow hopefully but right now I have quite the mess to organize - the living room looks like we just had a Christmas party. Here's a cute photo of Davis with his guitar he got from his godmother Crystal.

VERY FIRST PHOTO

Davis is going to be turning 3 this Saturday. Each year as one of my children approach their birthday all the memories come back of the last few days of pregnancy, the labor, bringing them home etc. (at least for me anyway). I was looking at all the photos we have of Davis (there are thousands) and had to smile when I ran across this one. This was his very first photo taken by Michael's cell phone so he could e-mail a photo to everyone. We will have many more photos to come in Davis' life but this will always be the first. I love you Davis!

38 DEGREES!!!!

It is so cold today!! It was 38 degrees out when the kids left for class this morning. I have to admit I'm not prepared with the winter gear yet so Davis & Diana are wearing last years coats. I am lucky they could get into them. I hope the weather goes back to normal soon this is just way too cold!!!!! Note what I call the "tackle-hug" in the first photo. This is Diana's favorite thing - she is one tough little lady thanks to her big brother.

NEW SHOES FROM CRAIG

Thank you to Craig for the new shoes for the kids. We received them in the mail yesterday and they were both so excited to open their packages. I went a little overboard on all the shoe pictures but they are just so cool Davis and I couldn't help it. We did a "shoe photo shoot" together this monring LOL. We really appreciate you always thinking of the kids. These are not shoes we would normally buy ourselves so they are a special treat :-)
