DAVIS LOVES HIS GRAMMY

I have been meaning to journal about this for awhile but haven't had the time. One day I told Davis that Grammy would be coming to see him on the weekend. He immediately ran to the toyroom window to watch for Grammy. I told him it would be a few days before she got here and he said "no Mommy - grammy has a fast white car. I watch for her now". My Mom also told me that one morning she and Davis went in to get Diana up in the morning Davis said to Diana as he reached in the crib for her "good morning sweetheart" - that made me feel so good as that's what I say to Diana everyday. I am glad that Davis observes that and steps in when I'm not there what a great big brother. This is a photo of Davis with Grammy when he was six weeks old....

EATING POPSICLES

We stopped at Target after our trip to the park last week to grab a few things. We got popsicles, coffee creamer, and tampons. (sorry I had to mention this it goes with the story). Davis met an elderly woman in line and was telling her what our items were. The popsicles were shaped like crayons so he informed her "these are candy not crayons - they are icicles!", next was the coffee creamer "that's for mommy's coffee - mommy's tired", last were the tampons " and those" Davis says and then hesitates for a moment "are not for kids!!". We enjoyed the popsicles when we got home. I'm starting to realize that with the hot weather my kids are rarely fully clothed - I wish I could run around like that somedays : -)

MY TWO HELPERS

Davis & Diana have a new hobby - cleaning. Both of them have take more of an interest in helping me around the house and it couldn't make me happier. As soon as they learn how to fold laundry I will be in heaven. These two really are best friends - the older Diana gets the more apparent it is - they do everything together and don't like to be without the other. Whoever wakes up first always gets the other up so they can go play.

AIR SHOW BY THE LAKE

I forgot to post some photos from July. Michael and my brother took the kids down by Lake Michigan for the Air Show. Davis loves his Uncle PatPat and had fun learning how to skip rocks and playing in the water. Miss Diana loves Pat too. It looks like they had fun. Thanks Michael for taking the pictures!

DATE NIGHT

My husband has decided that we will be doing Wednesday night date nights. I guess I probably decided too:-) I want to make sure to remember all the good things Michael does so before I threw out my roses yesterday I took a quick picture of the ones that still looked ok. Michael surprised me last Wednesday with roses before our first "wednesday" date night which consisted of eating at Applebees. We both laughed because it's just way too easy to eat dinner without our toddlers there. Thank you Michael for putting in the effort. Love you!! I am very curious what we will be doing tonight - it's Wednesday again already!!

MEMORIES -END OF JULY

Well, I have officially spent a full hour blogging today while my kids were asleep to catch up with all of our July fun. I really could have done a lot of other things - mainly fold laundry ( I am never caught up on that) and am feeling a little guilty about it lately but we really aren't home that often and the kids keep me so busy lately. But I guess years from now I'll have plenty of time to keep up with my laundry and I probably won't remember any of this stuff if I don't blog about it so enjoy....my laundry is still in a sad and embarrassing state - oh well!!!

These are just some random photos from July - so cute....

A RARE & PEACEFUL MOMENT

Ahhhh, no fighting, no problems sharing, coloring together out on the deck - couldn't ask for more....

MONDAY MORNING MESS!

Not what you want to wake up to on a Monday morning. This was the least of the mess there was cake all over the couch and smashed into the carpet. That's what I get for leaving it within his reach - then again he finds a way to reach ANYWHERE!!

BEST BUDDIES

Davis loves going places with his Daddy!

BREWER GAME

I have done quite a few posts today (trying to catch up) so I'm going to keep this one short (yeah right). We went to the Brewer game. It was LOTS OF FUN. Michael's co-worker Jeff caught a game ball and gave it to Davis - Davis later gave it to my brother Pat who was much more excited about it then Davis. My brother (who is a teacher) was holding Davis up to yell at the opposing team. I believe I heard the phrase "you stink" with lots of giggling behind it and just chose to turn my head : -) Luckily he hasn't said it since Uncle Patrick!! My sister-in-law Katie and Crystal came with us too.

DIANA STAYS WITH AUNTIE LATONYA

Miss Diana stayed with her godmother who we call "Auntie Tonya" last Friday well we were at the Brewer game. Garrison and her nephew Austin were there to help out too. According to Latonya, Garrison was very sweet to Diana and loved rubbing her hair and thought she was pretty. Garrison will make a great big brother someday (hinthint).

CRYSTAL AND THE TANTRUM

Davis' godmother Crystal came to visit him last Friday. Crystal adores Davis and spoils him rotten. He is always a sweetheart around her but last Friday he showed her his "terrible two" side. After about an hour of some intense bossiness and tantrums on Davis' part he finally fell asleep in Crystal's arms. I'm hoping she still wants to have kids after witnessing how challenging it can be sometimes. Look at his red cheeks from being all worked up....

DIANA INVADES THE CAR BED

Davis does not allow his sister in his bed without him there and he definitely does not want her bringing any of her "girly" stuff in there. The other day Davis fell asleep on the couch and Miss Diana went off to play. I saw her carrying things from the toyroom into the bedroom one by one. I eventually went in there and this is what I found. She was playing in her brother's bed with all her stuffed animals and baby dolls. She was laughing so hard out of happiness. We made sure to get her out of there before he woke up.

DANNY GOKEY CONCERT

Davis, Michael and I went to the Northwestern Mutual company show where Danny Gokey opened for Kool and the Gang. You all know that Davis LOVES Danny so he was so excited to be right by the stage. He was singing into his glowstick and you can see him in one of the photos reaching out his little hand for Danny to touch him. It was a great experience for Davis and Danny's performance ended with Northwestern Mutual donating $10,000 to his foundation "Sophia's Heart". He was visibly shaken and thankful for the gesture - such a good guy.  We went back to our seats for Kool & the Gang so I didn't get a great picture but they were an awesome show too.  Davis was so upset that Danny Gokey was gone!!

DAVIS AT BETTY BRINN

Davis was quite the character during our visit to Betty Brinn. For the first half of the visit he was a little angel. He played in the sand area very quietly concentrating on his sand creations; he was just so cute. Then he ventured off to collect all the lawnmowers so the other kids could not play with them. He would only allow the other kids to use them if they asked him nicely and shook his hand ( I guess he wants to be a lawnmower salesman) and as you can imagine that didn't fly too well with the other kids. When we left the toddler area to go to the "big kid" area, Davis threw himself on the ground and probably scared every small child there with his "terrible two" tantrum. When we finally made our way out Davis again was happy and calm when he found "the stage" where he could perform a puppet show for Mommy. It was a fun and challenging trip with him to say the least. At the end of the day it's always worth it but these two year olds are no joke I'm telling you.

DIANA AT BETTY BRINN

Diana had a great time at Betty Brinn with her friend Brooklyn. She especially loved playing in the water and in the little kitchen area. She was determined to crawl in and out of the wall in the baby area and after a few times she was able to make it through with no problems. She loved the train too and kept smashing her face up against the window and laughing hysterically. Meanwhile, her brother was no where to be found. We definitely had some issues with Mr. Davis running off to find something better to do !

GARDEN PARTY AT THE ZOO

Last Sunday was Northwestern Mutual's garden party at the zoo. The kids loved the unlimited rides on the zoo train and the carousel. The food was great as usual and Davis even climbed up on stage with the Love Monkeys (a band). I will try to post the video later today. Diana had a great time with her Daddy. Davis kept dragging us everywhere he wanted to go. He was so excited especially for the jumping inflatables. Diana got right in with him too!!
